Slane Irish Whiskey is a triple-distilled, triple-casked blend of Irish whiskeys aged in new American oak barrels, then seasoned Tennessee whiskey barrels and Oloroso Sherry barrels for a richer, yet smooth tasting whiskey. With notes of vanilla, banana, butterscotch, dried stone fruits and subtle baking spice, each sip takes you on a sensory journey, uncovering the subtle layers of this whiskey’s complex character.
Alex Conyngham and his father Henry long aspired to open their own whiskey distillery on the grounds of the famed Slane Castle Estate in County Meath, Ireland, which the Conyngham family has owned and operated since 1703. Alex realized that ambition in 2015 when he co-founded Slane Irish Whiskey in partnership with Kentucky’s prolific Brown-Forman Corporation.
The distillery is built inside a 230-year-old renovated horse stable located on the castle grounds for a juxtaposition of state-of-the-art technology and antique architecture. With the vision and historic lands of Slane’s Conyngham family and the 147-year-old whiskey-making mastery of Kentucky’s Brown family, Slane brings exceptional whiskey back to the Boyne Valley for generations to come.
