Vân Vân

Vân Vân is a New York City-based importer and purveyor of premium, single-origin spices and herbs sourced from small growers and producers across Vietnam. The brand launches in 2023 with five cardinal Vietnamese ingredients, including: lemongrass from the Mekong Delta in the south, ginger and heaven-facing chilies from the central highlands region, purple shallots from the central coast, and garlic from the northern mountains.

Created by Vietnamese immigrants Thảo Bùi and Duy Võ, Vân Vân is driven by its dual-mission: educating US consumers about the diversity of traditional Vietnamese ingredients, while also supporting farmers back home by introducing their goods to new markets. Vân Vân’s name means “etcetera” in Vietnamese, alluding to the founders’ interest in the more niche and marginalized aspects of Vietnamese culture.
